Lionel Messi, the Argentine football star, has been hit with another injury blow after sustaining a knee ligament tear in his right knee during PSG's Champions League match against Manchester United on Wednesday night.
The 34-year-old was forced off the pitch early in the second half and will now be sidelined for at least three weeks. The severity of the injury is not yet known but it is likely that he will miss the rest of this season and potentially the start of next term.
Messi has already had a difficult campaign so far this year,Football Domain Station having missed the majority of the league season through injury and also suffered a hamstring strain in February. He has since returned to training and is hoping to be fit enough to play in the remainder of the season.
