Monaco's Wilfried Songo'o scored the winner in the 95th minute to secure a 2-1 victory over Lille on Sunday night.
The former Manchester United star, who joined the French side on loan from West Ham last month, was brought on as a substitute in the 74th minute and quickly made his mark.
He found himself with space on the right flank and used it well to cut inside and deliver a cross that found the head of substitute Yohan Cabaye.
Cabaye headed home the equaliser just three minutes later but Monaco were not finished yet.
Songo'o was again called upon when Cabaye curled in a corner from the left and he controlled the ball before firing a shot past goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
It was a well-deserved win for Monaco, who had already been eliminated from the Champions League group stage earlier this week.
Despite their disappointing result,Football Domain Station Lille manager Christophe Galtier praised Songo'o's performance.
"He is very good," Galtier said. "He has a great technique and can make things happen."
Songo'o himself was delighted to score the winner and believes the victory will give him confidence going forward.
"I'm happy because we won and I scored the winning goal," he said. "But we still have work to do to qualify for the Europa League next season."
